Out of the dust is about this girl named Billie Jo, who loves playing the piano. Also her family is really wants a baby boy. So, when Billie Jo’s mother is pregnant, Billie tries her best to keep the baby safe. However a fire fatally killed the baby and her mother along with severely damaging Billie’s hand. Then, the dust bowl happens. It killed many people she knew and many people, including her neighbors fled. However, Billie’s dad didn’t want to flee, he wanted to stay where all the memories were. So Billie runs away, she thought running away could help. As Billie learns it doesn’t so she returns home and also gets to play the piano that she hasn’t…

A girl named Billie Jo is living in Oklahoma on a farm. One day, a fire kills her mother and baby brother. Also, it burns Billie Jo’s hand really badly. Her passion was playing the piano, but because of her burned hand, it was getting increasingly hard to play. All of their neighbors were leaving, but Billie’s dad was still faithful. She decides to run away but after she gets to her destination, she decides to return back to her father. Billie and her father live happily together with ease.
