Sunday was expected to be the busiest travel day in America. They don't have final numbers yet but they reported about 1,071,000 people traveled on the day before Thanksgiving. It was less than half the numbers of airline travels on the same day last year. The travel officials expected more American would be driving around this time. So overall fewer people were expected to travel during the pandemic but not by a lot as last year. Experts say that 24% of americans spent less on their holiday shopping this year, it's been hard because the pandemic fired lots of people due to it. Even the airport this thanksgiving only had 1 million people book a flight, last thanksgiving their were 2 million. They opened before thanksgiving is because they wanted to get a head start for black Friday. Critics have said that the employees should be allowed to stay home and enjoy time with their family.
