Welcome to the VIP Center!

Do you or a loved one fear that loss of vision will affect your ability to live on your own? If you do, then the Visually Impaired Persons (VIP Center) can help you!

The VIP Center offers Rehabilitation Services that help adults and their families adjust and cope with vision loss. VIP holds classes and provides training throughout Lee & Collier Counties of Florida. In 2007, we developed a year round Transition Program for students ages 14-22 to learn necessary life skills.

There is NO CHARGE for most of our services. We receive funding from the State of Florida Division of Blind Services, Lee County Human Services, United Way of Lee County, and from various contributions and donations from individuals and businesses.

VIP has a variety of programs to assist you. We offer classes in Activities of Daily Living, Braille, Eccentric Viewing Training (Reading), Assistive Technology Training (computers, etc.) We have a part time Optometrist who specializes in Low Vision. We also have a Low Vision Lab with high tech equipment to aid our low vision clients. We specialize in one-on-one training in Orientation and Mobility classes.

VIP Center offers unique Social Services for clients and their families in providing counseling, information and valuable resources to better cope with vision loss. We counsel in groups (as part of a class), on an individual basis, or through family support groups.

The VIP center boasts its own Art Department, where visually impaired individuals create many forms of art despite their lack of vision. Our clients have had their paintings displayed in juried shows both locally and nationally!

Arts and crafts classes, festive events and bi-monthly social gatherings make our VIP Center a valued part of the community. We have been serving the Blind since 1974!

We offer complete rehabilitation for independent living for Visually Impaired Persons.

Our office is located in North Fort Myers, Florida at 35 West Mariana Avenue. Our phone number is (239) 997-7797

Assistance with Transportation is available. Please contact us for further information on how we can help you!
